When you think back to when you were a child, most likely in your memory will be some kind of soft, cuddly, stuffed lovable friend that became your sleeping buddy, your security net, and someone you could tell your secrets too.

As a child, it is important to have something near us that make us feel loved when we are alone.  Eventually we will grow out of our stuffed toys, but I know a lot of adults that still have some of the stuffed toys, because those are the ones that brought us the most joy.

When considering a dog or cat plush toy, there are a few things to keep in mind.  Not all stuffed toys are created equal.  If you are looking to purchase a cat plush for a small child, it is important to find one that does not have parts that can come off and be a choking hazard.  Looking for eyes and noses that are actually sewing stitches instead of something like a bead that is glued or beads will reduce the chance of that becoming an issue.

If you are looking for one that is more realistic, there are a few places that try to mimic the look of a real cat or dog.  They can be a bit more expensive on the front end, but some also become collector’s items if they have been well cared for.

Giving a child a cat plush can be a great gift for birthdays or Christmas.  Children love to play with them, dress them up, tell them stories, and pretend that they are real.  And that is ok, because there will eventually come a time when the child will learn that it is just a toy, and then be left with the happy memories with that toy.
